Frequently asked questions
When the company was founded many decades ago, toxicity provided a leading marketing edge, and we were originally “Acinitox”. “A” was used to put us first in the phone book. “Cin” was meant to connote cyanide and “tox” was for toxicity. We transitioned to a much more environmentally friendly approach long ago, and in 1998 we changed the name to Acenitec.
Yes. There’s always a balance between efficacy and environmental concerns, and we’re happy to strike that balance with your preferences in mind.
There’s always a balance between efficacy and environmental concerns. We do our best to rid homes of dangerous and irritating pests while protecting pollinators and other beneficial insects.
Our treatment frequencies are tailored to the needs of each property. Typically, service for common insects and mice is done quarterly. For food service businesses, we treat monthly.
Quarterly service may seem like a lot, but in order to rid your home of pests, it is necessary because the efficacy of the chemical we use is about three months. This lowers the toxicity and reduces the chances of the chemical killing desirable creatures, but it also means that after three months, a new application is necessary. Pests quickly become active, even on warm winter days.
Though you can decide how often and to what extent you want lawn treatment tailored to your needs, we recommend our signature seven-step program of weed control and lawn fertilization to cultivate a lush, beautiful lawn.
Throughout the year, as temperatures and weather patterns change, different organisms strike out to stake new claims on your lawn. Whether it’s weeds, grubs, unwanted grasses, or disease organisms, there’s always something that needs treating – or, better yet, preventing.
We treat most insect, termite and rodent problems within homes and businesses. As with any pest, prevention is the ultimate goal.
Actual treatment cost depends on property size, the extent of the problem and a number of other factors. We’re happy to do a free, in-person property evaluation and estimate – or provide approximate prices over the phone.
We take cards, checks or cash. Your service representative can accept payment at the time of service, or a credit card number can be read over the phone if necessary.
Our appointments are typically scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Ask us about earlier or later times for extenuating circumstances.
Of course! Give us a ring. If you call during our hours of operation, you’ll always speak with a real person.
